"I created my poster around Leah's story. As Leah explains, she has chosen to live a seizure-free life which requires her to take medications. Knowing that these medications cause serious birth defects in babies, she has made the decision to not have children of her own. Therefore, I chose to use the image of pills, paired with the quote "I choose my meds" to represent her struggle between her personal choice and the laws in place around her. I used the color lavender, as it is associated with Epilepsy Awareness Day."
