Jackson David is a senior at UNCW majoring in Communication Studies with a focus in public relations. Born and raised in Wilmington NC Jackson spent his time as a kid fishing and hunting up and down the east coast. From a young age Jackson competed in fishing tournaments that carried him from the Gulf of Mexico up through the coastal parts of Virginia. At 15 he turned pro in the sport and continues to travel with the free time he has fishing in tournaments. After the conclusion of his career at UNCW Jackson hopes to continue on to law school somewhere in his home state on North Carolina. His dream is to come back to Wilmington and be able to practice law in the town that taught him his love for the water and the field of law.
UNCW Storyteller of the Week for November 14: Logan Tart
Logan Tart is a senior at UNCW studying English Literature. She’s super excited to graduate in May and continue her education in hopes of becoming a professor. In her free time, she loves to sing, dance, and act in local theatre productions. Logan has been involved with theatre for ten years and has a passion for performing. Being a UNCW Storyteller has allowed her to perform on a new stage and in a much different way. Sharing stories with these children and bring literature to life has been exceptionally rewarding and Logan has enjoyed every minute of it!
UNCW Storyteller of the Week for November 7: Jenna Smith
Jenna is a senior and a Communication Studies Major at UNCW. With plans to graduate in the summer and become an event planner she plans to go back and get her masters in Business, in hopes of one day becoming a medical sales rep. In her free time Jenna likes to be involved with volunteer work, enjoys outdoor activities, attending her book club meetings, being a part of the UNCW CSS club and spending time with her family and friends. She has also helped with directing Christmas programs for the youth at her church for many years. That is why being a part of the UNCW storytellers really fits for her. She enjoys bringing excitement and joy to kids

UNCW Storyteller of the week: Bryan Murray
Bryan is a Senior at UNCW majoring in Communication Studies. This is his first time in the UNCW storytellers but has a background in performing from singing with the all male a cappella group called the High Seas, to taking theatre classes throughout high school. He loves working with kids whether it is going to help out at elementary schools or coaching the swim team in his neighborhood, which he has done for the past four years. In his down time, he loves to play all kinds of sports and is on many different intramural teams on campus. He definitely wants to keep working with kids in the future and cannot wait to perform to the rest of the elementary schools.

UNCW Storyteller of the week: Mariana Loaiza
Mariana is a sophomore at UNCW double majoring in Communication Studies and Spanish. This is her first year with the UNCW Storytellers and has loved every minute of it. She has been involved in the theater community for over four years and performing is a strong passion. She has also worked, coached, and volunteered with children for over five years so seeing both paths cross in the UNCW Storytellers has been such a privilege. Whenever she is not babysitting, she prefers to read, do Pilates, and eat breakfast foods. She can't wait to see where this incredible experience will take her!

UNCW Storyteller oF the week: Lauren Delavigne
Lauren is a sophomore at UNCW. She is majoring in Communication studies and hopes to become an event planner. She is currently doing an internship with the give back company, Half United. On campus, she is involved with French club and the women’s ministry, Delight. She spends her time painting things she finds on Pinterest and going to the beach. Lauren has worked with kids all of her life and is so excited to step outside of her comfort zone and try something new through being a UNCW story teller.

UNCW Storytelling presents on Social Justice and Performance
On September 30th, UNCW Storytelling Director, Dr. Julie-Ann Scott and Assistant Director Marle Mattingly presented at the Carolinas Communication Association's Annual Conference on how Storytelling creates a space for empathy, connection, and a space to pursue social justice.
UNCW Storyteller of the Week: Katie Carlton
Katie is a Junior and a Psychology Major at UNCW. She enjoys working with kids and after she graduates, plans to get her masters and doctorate degree in hopes to one day be a Child Psychologist. Outside of school Katie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, volunteer work, snow skiing, wakeboarding and most of all going to the beach. She is looking forward to this experience this semester with the UNCW Storytellers.
